LOGAN, UTAH – January 2, 2026 – J. Brett Chambers officially filed today to run for Cache County Attorney, launching a campaign focused on protecting the rights of Cache County residents and keeping the community safe.
“This is my home. I was born and raised here, I’m raising my family here, and I’ve built my legal career here,” said Chambers. “Cache County deserves a County Attorney’s Office built on integrity, transparency, and experienced leadership. That’s exactly what I intend to deliver.”
Chambers is a lifelong Cache Valley resident who earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Utah State University before graduating cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. He has spent his career as a trial attorney, arguing cases before the Utah Supreme Court, the Utah Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the District of Utah.
His professional leadership includes being appointed to and serving on three Utah Supreme Court committees: the Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Reform, and the Office of Legal Services Innovation. He currently serves as the elected Utah State Bar Commissioner for the First Division and previously served as President of the Cache County Bar Association.
His campaign will focus on four key priorities: protecting property rights, running a transparent and accountable office, keeping the community safe through effective prosecution and law enforcement partnership and support, and standing with victims throughout the justice process.
“The County Attorney’s job is to protect your rights and keep our community safe,” Chambers said. “I’m ready to do both, starting on day one.”
