Brett Chambers is a lifelong Cache Valley resident, experienced trial attorney, and dedicated public servant running to serve as your next Cache County Attorney.
Coming Home
Brett was born and raised in Cache Valley. He grew up exploring the mountains, playing sports, and learning the values that Cache Valley families have passed down for generations—hard work, honesty, and looking out for your neighbors.
After graduating magna cum laude from Utah State University, Brett headed to the University of Michigan Law School, one of the top legal programs in the country. He graduated cum laude and had opportunities to build a career anywhere. But for Brett, the choice was simple. Cache Valley was home. He came back to build his career, raise his family, and serve the community that shaped him.
A Career in the Courtroom
Brett has spent his legal career where it counts—in the courtroom, fighting for his clients and solving hard problems.
Early in his career, he served as a juvenile public defender, giving him firsthand insight into the criminal justice system from every angle. That experience taught him that justice requires both accountability and perspective—lessons that will guide him as County Attorney.
As a civil litigator licensed in Utah and Wyoming, Brett has handled complex cases involving property rights, business disputes, and government liability. He has argued before the Utah Supreme Court, the Utah Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the District of Utah. With over a decade of courtroom experience, Brett has built the kind of practical legal knowledge that Cache County needs in its next County Attorney. Whether in front of a judge or at the negotiating table, Brett has built a reputation for making complex legal issues understandable and finding practical solutions that work.
Trusted by His Peers
Brett's colleagues in the legal profession have recognized his skill and integrity at every level.
He currently serves on three Utah Supreme Court committees: the Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Reform, and the Office of Legal Services Innovation. These appointments reflect the trust Utah's highest court places in his judgment and expertise.
Brett is the elected Utah State Bar Commissioner for the First Division and previously served as President of the Cache County Bar Association. He has been named to Utah Business Legal Elite—a recognition based on peer nomination that honors the state's top attorneys.
Family and Community
Brett and his wife are raising their children right here in Cache Valley. They spend their time the way a lot of Cache County families do—skiing in the winter, enjoying the valley's trails and open spaces, and staying connected to the community they love.
Brett is deeply invested in keeping Cache County a safe, thriving place for the next generation. That's why he's running for County Attorney.
Brett has also previously volunteered his time with the Friends of 1st District Drug Court, working alongside drug court to support individuals going through rehabilitation. This experience reinforced his belief that the justice system should hold people accountable while also giving them a path forward.
Why County Attorney?
The County Attorney serves two critical roles: prosecuting crimes to keep our community safe, and serving as chief legal counsel to Cache County government. It's a job that requires experience in both the courtroom and the complexities of civil law—experience Brett has built over his entire career.
Brett believes Cache County deserves a County Attorney's Office built on integrity, transparency, and accountability. He's running to protect your property rights, partner with and support law enforcement to keep Cache County families safe, stand with victims, and bring ethical leadership to an office that serves every resident of Cache County.
"This is my home. These are my neighbors. I'll serve this office the way Cache Valley deserves—with honesty, hard work, and accountability."
